About the BLC

Sponsored by Pearson, the BLC is an annual learning and sharing event devoted to innovation and excellence in teaching general biology to college science majors. The 2024 BLC will be held over the weekend of April 12-14, 2024.

The BLC is a participatory community where:

  • ideas and innovations are shared

  • evidence is presented

  • challenges are revealed

  • teaching and learning are discussed, debated, critiqued, and valued

  • best practices are modeled

  • learning is the focus

  • collaborative projects are initiated and fostered

At the BLC you will:

  • meet and establish a supportive network of colleagues

  • explore new facets of the teaching and learning equation

  • meet the Pearson author and publishing team

  • leave the conference with at least one new idea to put into practice with your students
